Cocoa Butter

Cocoa butter is a pure, crushed form of butter that is Typical Soft in color. This butter is extracted from cocoa beans by separating the beans from their hulls. The technique used in this is mostly fermentation and roasting. The unrefined cocoa butter often gives out an aroma of dark chocolate. Since unrefined butter is rich in vitamins, so, it is kept as such. The raw and unrefined cocoa butter melts down at body temperature. Its botanical name is Theobroma Cacao. Due to the fact that It contains loads of natural antioxidants, therefore, it is used during aromatherapy massage by blending in lotions and oils.

Uses of cocoa butter:-         

1.It doesn’t have an SPF, but it is used to enhance a natural suntan.
2.Due to its thick consistency, it is used as a thickening agent and works as the main ingredient in the formation of soaps, lip balms, and body creams.
3.It is very rich in Vitamin E. It deeply moisturizes the skin, heals the cracked surfaces, and nourishes the dry, ragged skin.
4.It can be mixed well in the body massage oil or creams. Massaging with this mix gives deep relaxation to the body.
5.It melts down at body temperature; it gets absorbed into the skin quickly and soothes the dry skin.

Word of Caution:-

People with persistent skin problems like acne breakouts and eczema should not use it. Better consult the skin expert.

Constituents:-

The main constituent of cocoa butter is a triglyceride (fat). It is derived from oleic acid, palmitic acid, and stearic acid.
